In 1993, he joined the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) as the Executive Vice President. In 1998, he was appointed as the Acting Executive President of MSM with a main objective to establish the Capital Market Authority and then was appointed as the Acting Executive President of the Capital Market Authority (CMA) until mid of 1999. In 1999, he travelled to pursue his PhD studies in the topic of Financial Markets at the University of Cambridge, and upon completion by end of 2003, he resumed his work at the Capital Market Authority as an advisor to the Executive President, and then was appointed as the Executive Vice President for Research and Development. He has been Board Member of newly established listed companies. In the mid of 2006, he joined the College of Banking and Financial Studies as the Dean of the College. He received his BSc in Economics, from the American University in Cairo in 1986 and his PhD in Financial Markets in 2004, from the University of Cambridge in the UK. |
