Zain KSA achieves SAR 83m net profits in H1-21

Riyadh – Mubasher: Mobile Telecommunication Company Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) reported a net profit after Zakat and tax worth SAR 83 million in the first half (H1) of 2021, lower by 49% than SAR 164 million in H1-20.

Earnings per share stood at SAR 0.092 in the six-month ended on 30 June 2021, compared to SAR 0.242 in H1-20, according to the interim income statements on Sunday.

Revenues declined by 2.4% to SAR 3.83 billion in the January-June 2021 period from SAR 3.92 billion in the same period a year ago.

As for the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, Zain KSA achieved net profits worth SAR 42 million, down 28.8% annually from SAR 59 million in Q2-20.

The revenues meanwhile went up 0.37% to SAR 1.89 billion in Q2-21 from SAR 1.88 billion in Q2-20.

On a quarterly basis, the net profits after Zakat and tax in Q2 were higher by 2.4% than SAR 41 million in Q1-21.

Revenues in Q2-21 were lower by 2% than SAR 1.93 billion in Q1-20.

It is worth noting that Zain KSA came in the first place in terms of delivering the best 5G services in Saudi Arabia during Q1-21, according to a Meqyas report issued by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
