Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Yahsat Government Solutions (YGS), the government division of Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), has partnered with Al Seer Marine to equip maritime vessels with interoperable next-generation satellite communications solutions.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), Yahsat will test comms-on-the-move (COTM) satellite communications solutions to work on Al Seer’s unmanned vessels, according to a press release on Tuesday.
The agreement was signed during the World Defense Show, being held in Riyadh on 6-9 March 2022.
The General Manager of YGS, Eisa Al Shamsi, said: "It will allow Al Seer Marine to draw upon Yahsat’s rich expertise in system integration on airborne, shipborne and land vehicular platforms, enabling dynamic and versatile applications requiring satellite connectivity."
Meanwhile, the Chief Operating Officer of Al Seer Marine, Holger Schulte-Hillen, commented: "This partnership is an important development for us and aligns with our efforts to boost our contribution to the UAE’s sovereign developed technology solutions in the maritime safety, security and communications sectors by enabling Al Seer Marine and Yahsat collaborate."
