Yahsat inks MoU to support connectivity in Mubadala Petroleum’s assets

Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mubadala Petroleum to study advanced satellite technologies to support connectivity across Mubadala Petroleum’s assets in Southeast Asia.

Under the MoU, the provision of fixed and maritime VSAT connections will be explored to support Mubadala Petroleum’s offshore operations in South East Asia and multiple applications including welfare, CCTV, and IoT, according to a press release on Wednesday.

The agreement was signed at the ADIPEC Exhibition, being held by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) on 15-18 November 2021.

The Group CEO of Yahsat, Ali Al Hashemi, said: "This partnership serves to reinforce Yahsat’s position as a preferred partner for satellite communication technology and critical infrastructure to a number of industries, including the Oil & Gas sector."

Meanwhile, the CEO of Mubadala Petroleum, Mansoor Mohamed Al Hamed, commented: "Digital platforms are critical to the success of our business and we have invested heavily in building a digital transformation strategy that supports our business goals."
