UAE - Mubasher: Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, the UAE's newest national airline, will officially launch its operations starting on 15 January, with an inaugural flight to Athens, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, established in partnership between ADQ and the UK-based Wizz Air Holdings, will also launch flights from Abu Dhabi to Thessaloniki in Greece, starting on 4 February 2021.
The airline's fleet includes Airbus A321neo aircraft, which will enable the company to have the lowest environmental footprint among its competitors in the region.
The Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Kees Van Schaick, commented: "Thanks to the support of the government and our local business partners in Abu Dhabi, we are fully prepared. We have the aircraft, we have the crew, we have the partners, and we are ready to fly. We look forward to building a new travel segment in this important market."
It is noteworthy to mention that in October, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi received its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
