UAE stock markets flag in red on Wednesday; EGX, Tadawul close session higher

Mubasher: The main index of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) as well as the benchmark index of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) closed Wednesday's trading session in the red zone. 

Meanwhile, the indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) showed a positive performance and closed the session higher.

As for the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), the benchmark All Share Index (TASI) and the Parallel Market Capped Index (NomuC) ended the trading session in the green zone.

UAE Stock Markets

DFM lost 17.63 points (0.43%) and closed at 4,067.18 points. A total of 154.94 million shares were exchanged at a value of AED 332.46 million.

Emaar Properties recorded the highest turnover of AED 110.51 million, while Union Properties dominated the trading volume with 72.07 million shares.

Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company (Aman) was among the top risers with 2.23%, while Orascom Construction led the fallers with 5.88%.

Likewise, ADX went down by 0.183% to 9,744.22 points. The turnover stood at AED 899.84 million after 173.39 million shares were exchanged during the session, while the market cap value hit AED 2.83 trillion.

International Holding Company (IHC) registered the highest trading value of AED 205.96 million, while Multiply Group headed the trading volume of 28.94 million shares.

Oman & Emirates Investment Holding Company (OEIHC) advanced the gainers with 14.93%, whereas Fujairah Cement Industries Company topped the losers with 7.25%.

Egyptian Stock Market

The EGX30 main index closed the trading session higher by 1.01% at 18,818.15 points.

Both the EGX70 EWI and the EGX100 EWI closed the session increased by 0.46% to 3,812.58 points and by 0.29% to 5,585.53 points, respectively.

The turnover amounted to EGP 0.46 billion through the trading of 908.14 million shares. Meanwhile, the market cap value hit EGP 1.27 trillion.

As for trading on securities, the Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 8.55 million and EGP 3.25 million, respectively. Meanwhile, the Arab traders were net sellers with EGP 11.80 million.

Tadawul

TASI went up by 1.16% and ended the trading session at 11,574,75 points. The turnover stood at SAR 5.64 billion through the exchange of 182.32 million shares.

Fawaz Abdulaziz Alhokair Company (Cenomi Retail) led the gainers with 10%, while Al Baha Investment and Development Company headed the decliners with 5.88%.

In addition to posting the highest turnover of SAR 583.13 million, Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) was the most active stock with 16.92 million shares.

The Nomu-Parallel Market Capped Index (NomuC) also ended the session higher by 0.25% at 23,656.23 points.

International Human Resources Company (iHR) advanced the risers with 13.54%, while Mayar Holding Company dominated the fallers with 8.16%.
