UAE stock markets close Wednesday in red zone

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE stock markets have closed Wednesday's trading session in the red zone.

The benchmark index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) went down 0.02% to settle at 2,782.08 points by the end of Wednesday's trading session.

A total of 74.06 million shares were traded through 1,779 transactions valued at AED 137.653 million.

Al Mazaya Holding topped the losing stocks with 10%, while Al Salam Bank - Sudan led the rising stocks with 6.25%.

As for the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), the main index inched down by about 0.22% to close Wednesday at 6,969.64 points.

Turnover amounted to more than AED 1.21 billion after 173.38 million shares had been exchanged through 4,708 transactions.

Gulf Cement Company headed the red zone with 9.53%, while National Takaful Company (Watania) came on top of the green zone with 13.86%.
