UAE’s non-oil trade up 7% YoY in Q1-19

UAE – Mubasher: The UAE’s non-oil foreign trade grew by 7% year-on-year (YoY) to around AED 396 billion during the first quarter of 2019, versus AED 370.5 billion in the same period in 2018.

The imports reached AED 219.5 billion in the Q1-19, up from around AED 210.1 billion in the corresponding period of the prior year, according to data by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.

Meanwhile, the exports increased to AED 60.9 billion in Q1-19 from nearly AED 52 billion in the same period the year earlier, while the value of re-exported goods posted AED 115.6 billion from AED 108.4 billion.

China topped the list of the UAE’s trade partners during the first quarter of 2019 with over AED 44.7 billion in trade exchange, followed by India with AED 38.8 billion.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia was the first in the Gulf area and among Arab states with AED 26.3 billion.
