UAE's dnata inks lease agreement to expand cargo operations at Sydney Airport

UAE - Mubasher: dnata, the UAE's air and travel services provider, has inked a five-year lease agreement with Sydney Airport to add 4,800 square metres to its existing cargo facility at the international airfreight terminal.

The 16,300 square metres facility will include an increased number of landside and airside docks, alongside enhanced processing capacity, according to a press release on Thursday.

The facility will also be provided with an additional truck hoist by mid-2021 to support the on-airport warehouse’s existing hoist.

dnata also runs a 10,000 sqm dedicated import warehouse at Sydney’s Eastern Suburb of Matraville, which is equipped with ball decks to facilitate the de-containerisation process.

In Australia, dnata operates six cargo terminal operations across Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, and Perth, transporting around 300,000 tonnes a year nationally for over 20 airline customers.

The Managing Director of dnata Australia, Brett Fuller, said: "This expansion provides strategic and operational benefits for dnata to support continued cargo volume growth driven by increased customer demand."
