Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Etisalat has launched the embedded SIM cards (e-SIMs) suitable for devices running iOS.
The UAE telecom operator said on Tuesday that the new service will be available on Apple devices as part of a new update to iOS 12.1, which is set to be introduced later today.
Etisialat has previously launched the dual SIMs technology, supported by the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
In October, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX)-listed company started series of experiments on the fifth generation (5G) of mobile networks, said the senior vice president of mobile networks Saeed Al Zarouni on Monday, noting that 5G technology will be introduced in the UAE by 2020.
By 2020, Etisalat aims to make its 5G network one of the fastest, smartest and most advanced networks in the world to ensure that visitors enjoy an exciting, digitally enhanced experience.
