Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The UAE’s federal government and local governments have provided financial aid to citizens valued at AED 19.2 billion in 2018, according to statistics by the Ministry of Finance.
This step reflects the state’s willingness to support its people and cement community cohesion, the state-run Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
The aid provided to people accounted for 5% of the government’s total financial expenditure of AED 389.3 billion over the course of the previous year, data showed.
This aid included social aid, subsidies, financial support for partner organisations, and services for community segments such as people of determination, the elderly, and families along with cash, the news agency added.
Moreover, the aid provided by federal and local governments rose by AED 3.2 billion in the first quarter of 2018, reaching AED 7.55 billion.
Additionally, the aid valued at AED3.1 billion during Q3-18 and stood at AED 5.32 billion in the fourth quarter of last year.
