UAE - Mubasher: The UAE has been placed among the top 20 countries in the world across 13 indexes related to transport in 2020, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Five international organisations ranked the UAE among the world’s leading countries in the transport sector, including the World Economic Forum (WEF), the World Bank, and the Legatum Institute, as shown by a report issued by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre.
The country has occupied the second position globally in terms of the quality of air transportation index in the IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook 2020.
Meanwhile, the UAE ranked fourth in the timeliness index of the World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index, fifth in the international shipments index, and 14th in the tracking and tracing index.
The UAE was placed in the seventh position in terms of air transport infrastructure quality and 15th inland transportation efficiency in the WEF's Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report.
The country also ranked 13th in the liner shipping connectivity index in the Global Competitiveness Report and 14th in the Prosperity Index.
