Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The number of new mobile subscribers for companies operating in the UAE grew by 11% or 1.96 million subscribers by the end of 2016.
Mobile users reached around 19.9 million by the end of 2016 compared to 17.94 million by the end of 2015, according to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
Meanwhile, the number of fixed line subscriptions rose by 1.33%, reaching 2.28 million in December 2016 from 2.25 million in the previous year.
Internet users increased by 5.7% to 1.3 million in December 2016 from 1.23 million subscribers in December 2015.
