UAE – Mubasher: The UAE has been globally placed in the second position in the economic sector for the fourth consecutive year, as shown by the 2020 edition of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI).
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) have announced the 2020 results of the GKI, which has covered 138 countries this year, during a recent press conference.
The Index aims to measure the multidimensional concepts of knowledge, including pre-university education, research, development, and innovation (RDI), information and communications technology (ICT), and economy.
Globally, the UAE was ranked 15th in the GKI, advancing three ranks since 2019 and maintaining its position among the top 20 countries in the world.
The UAE was also placed in the tenth position in the pre-university education sector and first at five sub-sectors and several indexes.
Meanwhile, Switzerland maintained its number-one rank for the fourth year, followed by the US and Finland.
