Dubai – Mubasher: The UAE topped the GCC region in terms of energy projects in 2017 with a total value of $6.6 billion.
Since 2014, the UAE has launched several projects as part of Dubai’s and Abu Dhabi’s plans to diversify energy sources, according to MEED magazine.
Solar energy makes up a big share of these projects, Al Bayan newspaper reported, citing MEED.
Abu Dhabi has awarded a contract to a consortium to develop the world’s biggest solar energy plant in Swaihan, while Dubai awarded $3.8 billion in solar energy contracts.
