UAE launches new economic growth initiatives to foster innovative economic model

UAE - Mubasher: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has introduced a number of new economic growth initiatives to support an innovative growth-oriented economic model in the UAE.

These initiatives were launched as the Ruler of Dubai was reviewing the UAE Ministry of Economy’s programmes during his visit, according to a recent press release.

The initiatives include Skill-Up Academy, an entrepreneurial academy; Scale-Up Platform, a new platform to support the growth of startups; and Grow in UAE, a web portal that will inform investors of policies, procedures, and investment opportunities in the UAE.

Meanwhile, UAE Growth Lab, a new economic research institute, was established in collaboration with leading universities, comprising UAE University, Zayed University, American University of Sharjah, and New York University Abu Dhabi.

The Lab aims to use data and advanced economic models to back the UAE’s competitiveness and leadership in the global economy, especially in trade, investment, SMEs, and fourth industrial revolution sectors.

Investopia, a global investment conference, is also set to be held in March 2022 to focus on strategies to benefit from the opportunities created by the new economy.

In addition, an accelerator platform was introduced to support family-owned businesses seeking to improve their performance, enable them to access new markets, and build their brands.

The new platform also supports startup projects by enhancing their ability to attract investment opportunities, grow, and build their capabilities and skills.
