UAE hikes fuel prices in August

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Emirates National Oil Company Group (ENOC) has announced the new fuel prices to be applied in August.

The per litre cost of Special 98 and Special 95 is set to rise to AED 2.57 and AED 2.56, respectively, next month, ENOC posted on Twitter.

Meanwhile, diesel’s price will decline to AED 2.63 per litre in August from AED 2.66 in July.

Fuel and diesel prices in the UAE include a 5% value-added tax (VAT), which was introduced in the GCC nation as of the beginning of 2018.

The rise in petrol in prices in the UAE is due to the fact that the wealthy Gulf country liberalised its prices nearly two years ago, which means that its prices now move with those in the global market.
