UAE banks record 30% higher investments in April

UAE - Mubasher: The UAE banks' investments jumped by 29.5% to AED 510.6 billion in April 2021, compared to AED 394.2 billion in April 2020, according to the latest data by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).

On a monthly basis, the UAE banks have raised their investments by 0.7% in April 2021, compared to AED 507.3 billion in March 2021.

Meanwhile, the UAE banks have invested AED 299.8 billion in debt securities in April 2021, up 24.2% from AED 241.4 billion in the year-ago period.

The UAE banks' investments in held to maturity securities hiked by 64.3% to AED 154.6 billion in April 2021 from AED 94.1 billion in the corresponding month of the earlier year.

In addition, the UAE invested AED 9.6 billion in equities in April, up 3.2% from AED 9.3 billion in the same month of 2020.
