UAE - Mubasher: The UAE banks' total investments jumped by 23.8% to AED 523.1 billion by the end of June 2021, compared to AED 422.4 billion in the same month of 2020.
On a monthly basis, the UAE bank's total investments rose by 0.6% in June 2021 from AED 520.2 billion in May 2021, according to the latest data by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
The UAE banks have invested AED 304.2 billion in debt securities in June 2021, up 15.4% from AED 263.7 billion in June 2020.
The UAE banks' investments in equities climbed by 36.4% year-on-year (YoY) to AED 12 billion from AED 8.8 billion.
In addition, the total investments in held to maturity securities reached AED 160.8 billion in June 2021, 59.8% higher than AED 100.6 billion in June 2020.
