UAE banks provide AED 1.81trn loans in October

UAE – Mubasher: The total value of loans granted by the UAE banks increased by 5.8% to AED 1.81 trillion by the end of October 2020 from around AED 1.71 trillion in the same period of 2019.

On a monthly basis, the UAE banks' loans rose by 0.1% in October 2020, when compared to AED 1.8 trillion in September 2020, according to the latest data by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).

The loans provided to the private sector reached AED 1.117 trillion in October 2020, down 2.1% from AED 1.141 trillion in the same month of 2019.

As for the public sector,  the UAE banks have provided AED 222.3 billion loans in October 2020, up 25.8% from around AED 176.7 billion in October 2019.

Meanwhile, the UAE banks granted the government AED 255.5 billion loans in October 2020, up 15.9% from around AED 220.4 billion in October 2019.
