UAE banks' liquid assets hit AED 486.58bn in Q1-21

UAE - Mubasher: The total liquid assets held by the UAE banks increased to AED 486.584 billion during the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, compared to AED 442.860 billion in the year-ago period.

The UAE banks' liquid assets represented 15.9% of the total assets in the first three months of 2021, according to the "Core Financial Soundness Indicators" report issued by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).

Higher liquid assets show the gradual economic recovery across all sectors, including the retail and commercial platforms, from the coronavirus (COVID-19) impact.
