UAE, Egypt’s stock markets close Thursday in red zone; Tadawul sees mixed performance

Mubasher: The main index DFMGI of Dubai Financial Market (DFM) as well as FADGI, the benchmark index of Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), fell on Thursday.

Similarly, the indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed the session in the red zone.

As for the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul), the main market’s All Share Index (TASI) ended the session in the green zone, while the Parallel Market Capped Index (NomuC) declined.

UAE Stock Markets

DFMGI fell by 21.69 points (0.53%) to 4,048.85 points. The turnover stood at AED 380.03 million through the exchange of 291.39 million shares.

Emaar Properties maintained the largest trading value of AED 65.32 million, while Ekttitab Holding recorded the highest volume with 57.84 million shares.

Amanat Holdings was the top riser with 2.85%, while Shuaa Capital led the fallers with 7.22%.

FADGI also declined by 0.49% to close the session at 9,904.25 points. The trading value reached AED 1.13 billion after 304.19 million shares were exchanged, while the market cap value was AED 2.88 trillion.

International Holding Company (IHC) registered the highest trading value of AED 220.43 million, while Eshraq Investments posted the biggest volume of 80.63 million shares.

Sharjah Islamic Bank advanced the risers with 3.75%, whereas Gulf Medical Projects (GMPC) was the top faller with 4.76%.

Egyptian Stock Market

The EGX30 main index retreated by 0.30% to 17,710.20 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI also closed the session lower at 3,579.69 points after declining by 0.35%.

Similarly, the EGX100 EWI edged down by 0.46% to 5,287.10 points.

The turnover amounted to EGP 1.73 billion through the trading of 646.82 million shares. Meanwhile, the market cap value hit EGP 1.20 trillion.

As for trading on securities, the Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 17.91 million and EGP 30.56 million, respectively. Meanwhile, the foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 48.48 million.

Saudi Arabian Stock Market

TASI jumped by 137.91 points (1.22%) to 11,424.12 points. The turnover reached SAR 6.23 billion after 215.98 million shares were exchanged.

The food and beverage (F&B) segment headed the gainers with 3.18%, while the REITs sector was the top decliner with 0.69%.

Al Baha Investment and Development Company was the top faller with 5.88%, while Almarai Company topped the risers with 6.21%.

Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Aramco) dominated the largest trading volume and value of 29.09 million shares and SAR 980.61 million, respectively.

On the other hand, NomuC closed the session in decline by 121.76 points (0.51%) at 23,580.70 points.

Raoom Trading Company was the top faller with 7.41%, while Natural Gas Distribution Company advanced the risers with 8.51%.
