Two sectors push QSE up at Thursday’s close

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday in the green zone after gaining 0.39% or 38.2 points to reach 9,939.58 points.

The real estate sector rose 3.1% as Ezdan surged 4.67% and Barwa increased 2.06%.

The insurance sector grew 1.17%, and the industrials sector gained 0.43% after Industries Qatar, Gulf International Services, and Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding went up 1.56%, 0.69%, and 0.43%, respectively.

The banks sector levelled up 0.35% as Ahli Bank rose 4.25%, followed by Qatar Islamic Bank with 1.76%, and the Commercial Bank of Qatar with 1.61%.

On the flipside, the telecoms sector fell 1.98% after Ooredoo lost 2.3% and Vodafone Qatar shed 0.23%.

The transportation sector decreased 0.73% as Gulf Warehousing and Qatar Navigation (Milaha) dropped 2.13% and 0.72%, respectively.

Traded volume declined to 6.92 million shares on Thursday against 17.73 million shares on Wednesday, while liquidity slid to QAR 190.91 million from QAR 481.73 million.

Ezdan’s stock led in terms of trading volume with 2.7 million shares traded, at a turnover of QAR 30.49 million.

Earlier on Thursday, the benchmark index increased 0.05% or 4.94 points to reach 9,906.32 points.
