Two Egyptian companies awarded electricity supply contracts for monorail

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's Cabinet approved a request by the Ministry of Transport to award the electricity supply operations of the two monorail lines of Sixth of October City and New Administrative Capital lines to the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC) and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC). 

The decision includes the establishment of four high-voltage 66/22 kilovolt (kV) stations and the extension of high-voltage 66 kV cables at a length of 89 kilometres (km) and medium-voltage 22 kV cables at a length of 100 km, according to a statement on Tuesday. 

The 99.5-km monorail project is being established by a consortium comprised of Alstom, Orascom Construction, and Arab Contractors.
