Trade exchange between Egypt, Kenya reaches $550m in 2021

Cairo – Mubasher: Trade exchange between Egypt and Kenya is witnessing continuous growth and amounted to $550 million last year.

The statement was made by Kenya’s Ambassador to Egypt, Ayub Matiiri, on the margin of Kenya’s 59th Independence Day celebration, which was organised by Kenya’s Embassy in Egypt last week. 

Matiiri reiterated his country’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Egypt and highlighted the importance to increase Egyptian investments in the Kenyan market leveraging the current stability factors and Kenya’s distinguished geographic location.

For his part, Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Ahmed Samir, attended the celebration on behalf of the Egyptian Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly.

The minister said the current period is witnessing economic, trade, and investment momentum between the two nations whether on a bilateral or a multilateral basis within the framework of trade, regional, and continental agreements.
