Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of tourism said on Saturday that the tourism sector contributed 7.3% of the total foreign exchange to the country in the fiscal year 2015-2016, a percentage he described as modest.
The minister didn’t reveal more details about the foreign exchange revenues of the sector, but he stated that investments in the sector totalled EGP 3.3 billion, during his speech in Al Ahram forum.
Yehia Rashid added that tourism accounts for around 11.3% of Egypt’s GDP, and employ around 12.6% of the labor force.
