Telecom Egypt's profit hikes 88% in H1-21

Cairo - MubasherTelecom Egypt reported an 87.8% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its consolidated net profits to EGP 3.87 billion in the first half (H1) of 2021, compared to EGP 2.06 billion, including minority shareholders' rights. 

The revenues increased to EGP 17.37 billion in the January-June period from EGP 14.94 billion in the year-ago period, the company said in a bourse disclosure on Tuesday. 

As for the second quarter (Q2) of 2021, the telecom operator's net profits hiked to EGP 1.74 billion from EGP 746 million in Q2-20 and its revenues rose to EGP 8.97 billion from EGP 7.94 billion. 

The H1-21 standalone net profits soared to EGP 5.48 billion from EGP 987.2 million in H1-20. 

During Q1-21, Telecom Egypt posted consolidated net profits of EGP 2.12 billion, up from EGP 1.31 billion in Q1-20, including minority shareholders' rights.
