UAE – Mubasher: Taqdeer Award, a UAE non-governmental and nonprofit organisation, has inked a cooperation agreement with Aster Hospitals and Clinics to develop primary healthcare services for workers in Dubai.
The entity issued a discount card to blue-collar workers to be the first of its kind in the world, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Over 160,000 workers are currently benefiting from the card in Dubai's four main economic sectors; construction and electromechanical, free zones, manufacturing, and professional services.
In addition, more than 60 stores, institutions, and companies are supporting the discount card by providing a range of purchasing options, items, and services.
Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Chairman of Taqdeer Award, said: "[The agreement comes] as an additional step towards enhancing primary healthcare services and early detection of diseases for tens of thousands of workers in Dubai and consolidating its reputation as a global centre in healthcare excellence."
Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals and Clinics in the UAE, noted: "With this [collaboration], we will be catering to the medical needs of thousands of expat workers who play a pivotal role in shaping the better future of the country."
