Tadawul ends week on marginal losses

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed the week ended on 24 December 2020 on marginal losses with the benchmark index inching down by 0.1% or 8.9 points to reach 8,702.68 points.

Market cap losses amounted to SAR 42 billion, with the market capital of listed stocks dropping to SAR 9.1 trillion last week, as shown by data from the Saudi bourse.

At the sector level, diversified financials led the losers with 4.4%, whilst energy, telecom, and materials fell by 0.78%, 0.67%, and 0.05%, respectively.

On the other hand, the consumer durables and banks sectors increased by 4.48% and 1.06%, respectively.

Meanwhile, turnover plunged by 2.5% on a weekly basis to total SAR 57.14 billion whereas the trading volume rose to 1.9 billion shares last week from 1.78 billion a week earlier.

Wafrah for Industry and Development Company topped the red zone with 13.2%, whereas Malath Cooperative Insurance Company headed the green zone with 22.57%.

The Nomu-Parallel Market Capped Index (NomuC) closed the week up by 3.42% to settle at 21,356.96 points.
