TASI surges 98 pts, Nomu falls at Monday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday in the green after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) jumped 1.4% or 98.37 points, reaching 7,191.58 points, registering its highest level in two months or since 8 October 2017.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 242.37 million shares on Monday, against 206.2 million shares on Sunday, while liquidity increased to SAR 4.47 billion, from SAR 3.5 billion.

The media sector rose 3.2%, followed by transportation with 2.2%, banks with 2%, materials with 1.6%, and telecommunication services with 0.8%.

On the flipside, the consumer durables and apparel, retailing, and food and staples retailing sectors decreased 0.4%, 0.2%, and 0.06%, respectively.

Saudi Cement Company’s stock jumped 9.99% and Yanbu Cement’s stock levelled up 9.97%, whereas Anaam International Group’s stock fell 2.9%.

Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development’s stock led TASI in terms of trading volume after 47.68 million shares were exchanged, generating SAR 624.31 million, closing Monday at SAR 13.14.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market declined 0.3% or 9.30 points to 3,062.24 points.

Nomu’s traded volume reached 180,560 shares on Monday, against 84,690 shares on Sunday, while liquidity grew to SAR 2.51 million, from SAR 1.69 million.

Al-Kathiri Holding Company’s stock tumbled 6.6% and Raydan Co’s stock dropped 4.4%, whereas Arab Sea Information System’s stock increased 10.8%.

Arab Sea Information System’s acquired Nomu in terms of trading volume after 76,000 shares were exchanged, with a turnover of SAR 853,530.
