TASI loses 195 pts at Thursday’s close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange’s (Tadawul) benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) extended its losing streak for the second session in a row.

TASI fell by 195.43 points or 2.98% to close at 6,357.06 points.

The market’s turnover retreated to SAR 5.75 billion on Thursday from SAR 6.36 billion in the previous session, while the traded volume slid to 256 million shares from 282.57 million on Wednesday.

The pharmaceutical sector was the sole riser with 1.63%, while the telecommunications sector remained unchanged.

The basic materials sector headed the declining blue chips with 3.39%, while the banks sector slid by 3.18%.

Alujain Holding Corporation and Arabia Insurance Cooperative Co each slid by 10%, topping the losers.

The Mediterranean and Gulf Insurance and Reinsurance Co (MEDGULF) headed the gainers and advanced by 2.05%, followed by Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Medical Appliances Corp with 1.63%.

Al Rajhi Bank registered the highest turnover of SAR 9.28 million, while Alinma Bank was the most active in terms of trading volume with 25.6 million shares.

In the meantime, the main index (NOMU) of the Nomu-Parallel Market rose by 74.07 points or 1.42% to close at 5,306.78 points. National Building and Marketing Co was NOMU’s sole riser with 17.19%.
