TASI hits 18-session low, Nomu rises at Wednesday's close

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Wednesday's trading session in decline, after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) fell 5.85 points, or 0.07%, to 8,288.98 points, registering its lowest level in 18 sessions.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 125.16 million shares on Wednesday, against 132.04 million shares in the previous session, while traded value increased to SAR 3.63 billion, from SAR 3.4 billion.

The food and staples retailing sector dropped 2.2%, followed by the utilities with 1.8%, while the pharmaceuticals, telecommunication services and materials sectors dipped 1.7%,  0.4%, and 0.1%, respectively. 

On the other hand, the food and beverages sector rose 0.8%, followed by the consumer durables and apparel sector with 0.6%. The banking sector added 0.09%.

United Electronics Company's (eXtra) stock led losers with 4.2%, whereas Wataniya Insurance’s stock was the best performer with 7.2%.

The Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) acquired the bourse’s liquidity with SAR 1 billion, while Alinma Bank’s stock led in terms of trading volume after 41.2 million shares were exchanged.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, levelled up 10.62 points, or 0.4%, to finish at 2,788.57 points.

Nomu’s traded volume reached 34,000 shares on Wednesday, down from 75,170 shares in the previous session, while liquidity tumbled to SAR 563,770, from SAR 980,680.

Al Samaani Factory for Metal Industries Company’s stock rose 5.4%, while Raydan Co’s stock topped the parallel market’s activities after 18,200 shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of SAR 232,090.
