TASI falls, Nomu rises slightly Thursday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday in red territory, after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) slid 27.64 points, or 0.35%, to 7,879.37 points.

TASI’s trading volume reached 165.16 million shares by the end of the last session this week, down from 182.29 million on Wednesday, while traded value fell to SAR 3.43 billion ($915.47 million), from SAR 3.75 billion ($998.67 million).

The healthcare, capital goods, materials, banks, and telecommunication services sectors dipped 1.9%, 1.83%, 0.42%, 0.18%, and 0.15%, respectively.

On the other hand, the transportation sector rose 2%, while the pharmaceuticals sector inched up 0.64%.

The Saudi Cable Company’s stock was the worst performer with 8.12%, whereas Saudi Indian Company for Cooperative Insurance’s (Wafa Insurance) stock was the best performer with 9.88%.

Alinma Bank’s stock, down 0.28%, led TASI in terms of volume and value after 22.2 million shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of SAR 481.49 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, grew 18.68 points, or 0.75%, to finish at 2,519.21 points.

Al Kathiri Holding Co.’s stock was Nomu’s best performer after surging 19.97%, whereas Baazeem Trading Co’s stock was the worst performer with 2.73%.
