Riyadh – Mubasher: The Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed August 2020 trading sessions higher by 6.45% or 481.5 points to reach the level of 7,940.7 points, driven by gains from all sectors, excluding the telecommunication services which fell 1.25%.
Market capitalisation value rose 7.12% last month to stand at SAR 8.977 trillion ($2.39 trillion), compared to SAR 8.38 trillion ($2.23 trillion) in July.
Liquidity amounted to SAR 150.41 billion ($40.1 billion) last August, an increase of 35% when compared to SAR 111.4 billion ($29.7 billion) a month earlier.
In the meantime, average traded values increased to SAR 7.92 billion ($2.1 billion) from SAR 5.57 billion ($1.48 billion), whilst average trading volume was up by 24.6% monthly to 353 million shares.
Media and entertainment headed the gainers with 23.7%, followed by consumer durables and apparel with 15.2%.
Banks added 8.21%, while energy and materials rose 7.63% and 4.89%, respectively.
