TASI, Nomu end Thursday in red

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Thursday 0.25% or 18.09 points lower to reach 7,245.66 points.

The Tadawul All Share Index’s (TASI) trading volume stood at 143.15 million shares on Thursday, against 143.26 million shares on Wednesday, while turnover tumbled to SAR 2.97 billion, from SAR 3.23 billion.

The REITs, utilities, media, telecommunication services, banks, and materials sectors fell 1.7%, 1.4%, 1.2%, 0.6%, 0.33%, and 0.3%, respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate management and development sector increased 0.7%, and the commercial and professional services sector rose 0.3%.

Mediterranean and Gulf Cooperative Insurance and Reinsurance’s (Medgulf) stock was the worst performer with a drop of 3.8%, whereas Al Baha Investment and Development’s stock led TASI’s risers with a rise of 3.3%.

Al Maather REIT Fund led in terms of trading volume with 33.86 million shares exchanged, generating SAR 433.46 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the benchmark index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, inched down 0.08% or 2.75 points reaching 3,515.65 points.

Nomu’s traded volume amounted to 133,430 shares on Thursday, against 64,110 shares on Wednesday, while liquidity levelled up to SAR 2.4 million, from SAR 1.88 million.

Al-Omran Industrial Trading and Baazeem Trading lost 1.2% and 0.4%, respectively, while Abo Moati for Bookstores’ stock went up 4.1%, followed Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock with 2%.

Al-Omran Industrial Trading’s stock, closing at SAR 17.80, topped Nomu in terms of trading volume after 60,590 shares were traded, at a value of SAR 1.08 million.
