Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Customs collected EGP 3.783 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges during June.
The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Suez port amounted to EGP 1.014 billion during the sixth month of 2021, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.
Additionally, the value-added tax (VAT) imposed on these goods recorded EGP 2.432 billion during the month, while other charges stood at EGP 310.831 million, the statement showed.
The imported goods included strategic commodities, production inputs, and general cargo, including yarn, textiles, electric devices, plastics, petroleum products, cars, and spare parts.
Meanwhile, the port exported goods that included sand, juices, cosmetics, and poultry feed at a total value of EGP 7.765 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 7.268 million.
