Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's Suez Canal generated $4 billion in revenue during the first eight months of 2021, up by 11.6% from $3.6 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier, the Chairman of Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabie, said.
On the sidelines of the inauguration of several national Sinai Peninsula development projects on Tuesday, Rabie noted that the number of vessels passing through the canal increased by 6.7% to 13,617 during the January-August period, according to state-run TV.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has inaugurated several major projects in Suez City on Tuesday, including the Martyr Ahmed Hamdy Tunnel II.
