Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's Suez Canal has recorded $6.3 billion revenues in 2021, up 12.8% year-on-year (YoY) from EGP 5.6 billion in 2020, the Chairman of Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabie, announced.
The number of vessels passing through the canal rose by 10% to 20,694 in 2021, compared to 18,830 in the earlier year.
Meanwhile, the net tonnage across the canal reached 1.27 billion tonnes in 2021, 8.5% higher than 1.17 billion tonnes in 2020.
