Cairo – Mubasher: Suez Canal receipts grew by 4.5%, or $66 million, to $1.507 billion during the first quarter of fiscal year 2019/2020, compared to $1.441 billion in the year-ago period, according to data released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
On the other hand, transportation surplus excluding Suez Canal receipts fell by $120.4 million to $232.7 billion in the July-September period from $353.1 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Egypt’s balance of payments (BoP) posted an overall surplus of $227.3 million in Q1 of FY19/20, falling by 19.9% year-on-year from $284.1 million.
