Starwood, Dubai Properties ink 4-hotel deal

Dubai – Mubasher: Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. and leading real estate developer Dubai Properties announced on Tuesday an agreement to open four new hotels in the emirate of Dubai under Starwood’s Aloft and Element brand flags.

This milestone deal strengthens the company’s mid-range portfolio with 11 announced deals year-to-date, representing nearly 50% of Starwood’s Middle East pipeline, a joint statement has revealed.

Slated for inauguration in 2018, the four new Aloft and Element hotels will introduce 816 rooms in Dubai.

Michael Wale, President, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East, thanked Dubai Properties for helping Starwood advance the growth of its Aloft and Element brands in the UAE with addition of four new hotels.

“As the fastest growing brand in the history of hospitality, Aloft meets Dubai’s demand for mid-scale hotels in both urban and industrial areas that bring life, innovation and personality at a great value,” he added.

The new deal is in-line with the Dubai government’s focus on mid-scale hotel development ahead of the Dubai World Expo 2020, the statement revealed.
