Mubasher: Standard Chartered has appointed Mohamed Abdel-Hamid Abdel Razek as Regional Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Africa and Middle East (AME) and Islamic Banking.
The move comes along with the bank’s ongoing digital transformation agenda, according to the bank’s statement on Sunday.
The new CIO will be responsible for maintaining the bank’s technology landscape across various business segments, assuring Technology Services and Delivery across AME, and contributing to the regional business strategy.
Moreover, he will play a crucial role in ensuring the regional efforts are aligned with the Group’s Technology and Innovation strategy, with a strong focus on cybersecurity, stability and innovation.
Standard Chartered, the British multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in London, has made significant strides in enhancing its digital solutions over the past 18 months, including the rollout of its digital bank across eight markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The bank has also launched SC Keyboard, a banking solution, which allows customers to access financial services through social media accounts.
