Siemens awarded contract to upgrade Egypt-Sudan electrical interconnection line

Cairo – Mubasher: The state-run Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) signed an agreement with Siemens Energy to raise the efficiency of the electrical interconnection line between Egypt and Sudan to 300 megawatts (MW) from 80 MW.

The EGP 453 million contract will be funded by the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Resources, according to a statement on Tuesday.

The project will be implemented over a period of 18 months starting from the date of signing the agreement.
