Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Sharjah International Airport Authority has unveiled plans to begin its infrastructure works at the Sharjah International Airport in early 2018, Al Khaleej newspaper reported, citing the authority's director Faisal bin Ssud Al Qasimi as saying.
The authority has appointed a specialised consultant to execute the airport expansion, he added.
Estimated at around AED 1.5 billion, the expansion involves adding several utilities and growing the passengers' building, which is expected to increase the number of travellers through the airport to 25 million passengers by 2027.
