Dubai – Mubasher: China’s Shanghai Index shut Wednesday’s session at a rise, but dropped in the third quarter to record levels, due to concerns about economic and industrial growth.
The index rose 0.49% or 15 points to 3,053 points today. It slid 24.69% in the third quarter, as it started the quarter at 4,053 points.
During the third quarter, the index bottomed out at 2,929 points on 26 August.
The decline in Chinese equities came amid growing worries about economic growth and shrinking industrial activity in the world’s second biggest economy.
