Savola Foods partners with ASRT to integrate R&D with food manufacturing in Egypt

Cairo - Mubasher: Savola Foods Company (SFC), a subsidiary firm of Savola Group, signed a cooperation protocol with Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) to encourage Egyptian innovators to manufacture non-hydrogenated ghee using research and development (R&D).

This follows SFC's “Al Moadla Al Sah” awareness campaign where 720,000 citizens across 11 governorates in Delta and Upper Egypt expanded their knowledge on hydrogenation’s adverse health effects and rectified their education on proper nutrition, according to a recent statement.

The company partnered with ASRT to integrate R&D with food manufacturing, introducing non-hydrogenated ghee to the Egyptian market.

General Manager of Food Sector and Business Development, Savola Foods Company (SFC), Hania Serry, stated: “Today, we are passionately unveiling “Economic Manufacturing for Non-hydrogenated Ghee” competition, launched through the state’s e-platform (Egyptian Innovation Bank). The contest is designed to honour the best three groundbreaking solutions tailored to provide healthier options for hydrogenated ghee. SFC and ASRT will award winners with rewarding prizes ranging from EGP 10,000 to EGP 30,000 in addition to certificates of appreciation endorsing their innovations’ themes.”

President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), Mahmoud M. Sakr, revealed that ASRT is to issue a scientific and educational encyclopedia; electronically and in paper-print, comprising a number of brilliant researches and studies made by the hands of smart Egyptian college students on hydrogenation.
