Riyadh – Mubasher: Trade surplus of Saudi Arabia was SAR 19.92 billion in December 2020, the highest since February 2020, official data showed.
This is compared to a surplus of SAR 10.35 billion in November 2020 and SAR 34.82 billion in December 2019.
On a monthly basis, the trade surplus was up by 3.56% in December 2020 whereas dropped by 19.8% annually when compared to the year-ago month.
The kingdom’s merchandise exports tumbled by 24.5% yearly last December to SAR 64.8 billion, pressured by lower petroleum exports by 29.6% or SAR 19.5 billion.
Monthly, the merchandise exports hiked by 11.5% or SAR 6.7 billion in December 2020, while on a yearly basis, non-petroleum exports went down by 7.7% to SAR 18.4 billion.
Imports of the GCC state plunged by 12% yearly in December 2020 to stand at SAR 44.9 billion.
