Saudi indices finish Tuesday in red

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Tuesday with negative performance after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) slumped 56.88 points, or 0.1%, to 7,981.19 points.

TASI’s traded volume stood at 133.85 million shares, up from 124.58 million on Monday, while liquidity rose to SAR 3.36 billion ($897 million), from SAR 3.26 billion ($870.4 million).

The consumer services sector decreased by 1.64%, followed by the retailing sector with 1.32%.

The banking, telecommunication services, and materials sectors dipped 1.28%, 0.5%, and 0.14%, respectively.

On the other hand, the commercial and professional services sector gained 1.25%, while the utilities sector grew 1.08%.

Banque Saudi Fransi’s (BSF) stock was the worst performer after falling 3.77%, whereas the Saudi Industrial Export Company’s (SIEC) stock was the best performer after jumping 9.95%.

Alinma Bank’s stock, down 1.38%, led the main market's trading volume after 21.4 million shares were exchanged, while Saudi Basic Industries Corporation’s (SABIC) stock, down 0.16%, topped in terms of traded value after generating SAR 627 million.

In the meantime, the main index of the Nomu secondary market, went down 1.42 points, or 0.05%, to finish the mid-week session at 2,581.51 points.

Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company’s stock led Nomu’s losers with 2.3%, whereas the stock of Arab Sea Information System Co’s stock topped risers with 2.2%.
