Saudi indices end Monday on positive note

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday in green territory, after its benchmark Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) surged 44.86 points, or 0.6%, to 7,847.51 points.

TASI’s trading volume stood at 187.57 million shares, up from 129.59 million on Sunday, while the main market’s liquidity increased to SAR 3.83 billion, from SAR 2.98 billion.

The food and staples retailing sector rose 6.3%, followed by the transportation sector with 2.6%, while the telecommunication, materials services, and banking sectors added 0.97%, 0.8%, and 0.04%, respectively.

On the flipside, the food and beverages sector inched down 0.9%, while the healthcare equipment and services sector shed 0.1%.

Saudi Enaya Cooperative Insurance Company’s (Enaya) stock was the best performer after jumping 10%, whereas National Medical Care Co.’s stock was the worst performer with 3.3%.

Alinma Bank’s stock topped TASI’s volume and value after 28.95 million shares were exchanged, generating a turnover of SAR 634.57 million.

In the meantime, NOMU, the main index of the Nomu-Parallel Market, levelled up 74.77 points, or 3%, to close at 2,559.30 points, its highest level in 17 sessions.

Nomu’s turnover amounted to SAR 1.34 million, up from SAR 1.29 million during the sessions before, while traded volume reached 65,850 shares, compared to 2,480 on Sunday.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock rose 6.1%, whereas the stocks of Abdullah Saad Mohamed Abo Moati for Bookstores Company and Raydan Co went down 5%, and 1.1%, respectively.

Thob Al-Aseel Company’s stock acquired the secondary market’s activities after 42,580 shares were exchanged, with a liquidity of SAR 977,850.
