Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, said the kingdom’s market is open and its customs duty rates are very low, and there are no barriers to trade.
Speaking to state TV, the minister said Saudi goods reached 178 countries around the world by the end of 2020. The kingdom uniquely produces gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear (GIS) and its pharmaceuticals sector exports totalled SAR 1.5 billion, to be increased in the future, he continued.
More than 35,000 new job opportunities were created in the industrial sector during the last year, one-third of which targeted Saudi citizens. Moreover, the sector attracted investments worth over SAR 23 billion.
The industry ministry aims to create one million jobs by 2030.
