Saudi general reserves fall 11% in March – SAMA

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia's general reserves registered an 11% decline during March 2018, compared to the same month a year earlier.

The kingdom’s general reserves amounted to SAR 571.46 billion by the end of March 2018, compared to SAR 641.8 billion in March 2017, according to the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority's (SAMA) data.

The GCC nation's current account retreated 11.9% to SAR 33.9 billion in the third month of 2018, from SAR 38.49 billion during the same month in the prior year, the Saudi central bank noted. 

Month-on-month, the Arab country’s general reserves decreased 1.4%, according to SAMA. 

On a monthly basis, Saudi current account jumped 19%.
